Carr & Day & Martin founded in 1765 in London by George Carr has been sold by its current owners the Tangerine Group based in Lythan, Lancashire to Connolly’s RED MILLS based in County Kilkenny, Ireland.
Commenting on the sale David Haythornthwaite Chairman of the group said,
‘We have been very fortunate to be the custodians of this very special company for the last thirteen years. However, due to our rapidly expanding Veterinary business we are unable to give it the love and attention it needs and indeed deserves.’
‘We have had many suitors over the past few years but none we felt were the right fit for the business. When Red Mills approached us, we knew this had great potential and after meeting then this was confirmed. They, like us, are a family business and share the same values when it comes to people and products, so we are delighted to have been able to complete this sale.’
