How Tom Schewe began a career in Showjumping
My Name is Tom Schewe, German Showjumping rider
I started riding when I was 3 years old with a Shetland Pony in western saddle and switched to show jumping at 7 years old in a local riding school.
When I was a kid my mum would do western riding as a hobby, one day she took me to a showjumping competition around the corner from our home. From that moment I fell in love with showjumping.
From an early age it was clear to me that I wanted to become a showjumper. I had my first job when I was 19 as fulltime rider and worked my way up to where I am today.
Career Highlights and Goals: Aachen and the World Cup Finals
The proudest moments of my career so far have to be attending Aachen in 2025 and coming 5th in the ‘Nordrhein Westfalen’ Grand Prix and obviously competing in the Rolex Grand Prix in Aachen.. hopefully this will be continued.
My goal for now will be trying to qualify for the World Cup finals in 2027 and see what time will bring. However, my main goal is to grow with my horses and to always try bring new talents into the sport!
Tom’s Favourite Carr & Day & Martin Horse and Tack Care Products
I have use Carr & Day & Martin products for over a year, and I am incredibly impressed, they are simply my favourite horse care and tack care products.
It is difficult to choose a favourite product, because there are so many great ones. But my personal favourite is probably the tack cleaner spray because its what I use most regularly.
